John LockeDay 1. ARRIVAL
Arrival to Split Airport. Greeting at the airport by your English speaking, professional travel assistant who will accompany you throughout your tour. Transfer to your hotel and check-in. Dinner at the hotel or a nice local restaurant reserved for you. Overnight in Split, Croatia.
Day 2. SPLIT – MEDJUGORJE
Discover Split, the second largest city of Croatia… Split city was developed among the walls of the Diocletion Palace from the Roman Imperial period. The palace is among the most important structures in the city, also proclaimed as UNESCO World Heritage Site. Following the palace to the port, you will enjoy walking at the “Riva” promenade along the palm trees and cafes.
After a nice Panorama tour in Split, the journey continues in Čitluk, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Čitluk is a nice area with cozy vineyards and Dalmatian landscape. It has been famous for wine production since the Habsburg administration from the 19th century. After the wine tasting at a local wine producer; we will be visiting a holy place for Christians, the St.James Church and the Medjugorje area in the evening. Dinner at the hotel or a nice local restaurant reserved for you. Overnight in Medjugorje, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Day 3. MOSTAR
Today, you are visiting Mostar, the largest city in Herzegovina – Neretva area from Bosnia Herzegovina. The main character of the city is symbolized by the famous old bridge (Stari Most).
The bridge was severely damaged during the war. However, as a symbol of reconciliation and reunion, the bridge was renovated with significant donations and credits by charitable countries including Italy, Nederlands, Turkey, Croatia; and financial institutions such as Europe Development Bank, World Bank. Today, it is an indispensable part of the old city panorama, which is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Crossing the bridge, you can walk straight to the Biscevica House (Turkish House). It was built in 1635, and nowadays traditionally decorated as a museum. It displays a comprehensive outlook of the rich people at the time.
Next, your tour continues with a visit to a Carpet Warehouse in Čaplina. They contribute to the revival of traditional carpet weaving arts in Bosnia Herzegovina. There, you can get a basic knowledge on making elegant silk and wool rugs. The warehouse also consists of large carpet collections from all over the world. Dinner at the hotel or a nice local restaurant reserved for you. Overnight in Medjugorje, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Day 4. DUBROVNIK
Your journey continues with one of the most spectacular highlights on the Adriatic coastline and also listed as UNESCO World Heritage, the city of Dubrovnik. The pearl of the Adriatic offers nice beaches and bays, alongside with special cultural attractions. You can see the 2km long City Walls, Old Port, The Assumption Cathedral (of Virgin Mary) including artworks from Titian to Raphael, and one of the oldest pharmacies in Europe. Dinner at the hotel or a nice local restaurant reserved for you. Overnight in Dubrovnik, Croatia.
Day 5. BUDVA
Next, you are travelling to one of the oldest cities on the Adriatic. Budva is one of the hottest locations in Montenegro with magnificent beaches and bays. The heart of Budva is the old city (Stari Grad), surrounded by the walls that Venetians built in the 16th century. The old city is well-preserved and it has been closed to vehicle traffic. The Church of St.John along with its high bell tower, the Church of Holy Trinity and Sveti Sava Chapel from the 16th century will be among the highligts. Budva Castle (Citadel) was built as a high ground and it is now used as a Maritime Museum.
One of the most popular and elegant locations in Montenegro is the Sveti Stefan Island. The island offers a picturesque view with its narrow sandy passage from the mainland. This old fishermen village has been home to movie stars and celebrities in the past couple of years. Dinner at the hotel or a nice local restaurant reserved for you. Overnight in Budva, Montenegro.
Day 6. KOTOR
After the breakfast, you are visiting a noble jewelry manufacturer. Here, you will be informed about the worldwide precious stones and have a chance to obtain trendy designs. Following your visit, you will continue to Kotor, where color tones of green&blue mingles with history. Kotor Bay is and Kotor old city are protected as UNESCO Natural and Cultural World Heritage. Kotor city is not only surrounded by walls from three sides, but also by 2.000m high Orjen and Lovćen mountains. The history of Kotor is approximately 2.000 years old.
You can walk in the old city by following the narrow paths and historical buildings. St. Tryphon Cathedral and Maritime Museum are worth seeing.
Following Kotor city, you will reach to Perast, a distict and a preserved village on Kotor Bay. Perast has a unique outlook with villas and palaces. Dinner at the hotel or a nice local restaurant reserved for you. Overnight in Budva, Montenegro.
Day 7. STON – MAKARSKA
Crossing back from Montenegro to Croatia, you are travelling to old city Ston. Ston had played an important role in the middle ages as it is a vast salt production area, covered with long walls. The city is located on a peninsula and it is covered with 5,5 km long walls, the longest in Europe. The walls had served to protect the valuable salt and they are still visible today. Ston consists of two different areas: Ston and Mali Ston. Dinner at the hotel or a nice local restaurant reserved for you. Overnight in Makarska, Croatia.
Day 8. TRANSFER
Today, farewell with unforgetable memories. Your private travel guide will assist you to the airport with your private VIP minivan. We wish seeing you again in another trip. Have a nice flight.
